The Australian Community Transport Association (ACTA) in collaboration with the Victoria Tasmania Community Transport Association (VTCTA) & The Department of Transport Planning and Infrastructure (DOT) are pleased to launch The Victorian Mapping Project.
Community Transport builds capacity in communities where mainstream market options cannot. It keeps people connected, supports positive outcomes for individuals, families, medical & health systems. Each service is unique making our sector unique!
The focus of this project is to better understand the models of Community Transport in Victoria and map the existing eco-system of providers and locations covered. This will create a comprehensive report profiling Victoria.
We will promote the sectors definition of Community Transport, the people we support, and map the expansive available network of locations, transport outcomes and various funding dependencies. Funding and subsidies across services to support access and inclusion for people who are transport disadvantaged are varied across each provider, most providers accessing multiple sources of short-term funding, donations and philanthropic pathways to remain sustainable. Sustainability in a time of reform has never been so important.
This project will provide the platform to be able to work together for stronger organisational and community outcomes through our Australian peak body (ACTA).
